A

Account
When you sign-up with Mirago, we create an account for you. This contains all of your campaigns, keywords, invoicing information etc.

Advertiser
When you sign-up for any of our ‘paid for’ products then you become an advertiser. An advertiser is someone who presents goods, a service, etc. to the public.

Agency
An agency is a organisation that provide services for a variety of clients

Autobid
A system designed to automatically bid on keywords for you. The system ensures that you appear at your desired rank.

B

Bid
A bid is the amount you wish to pay for a keyword. How much you bid depends on where (the rank) you wish your listing to appear in our search results, eg:

1st - 21p
2nd - 20p
3rd - 19p

If you wanted to appear first in our search results then you would need to bid 22p.

C

Campaign
Your Mirago Featured Sites account can contain one, or a number of campaigns. Each of these campaigns will contain the keywords that you are currently bidding on. If you have a variety of products and services it is recommended that you create individual campaigns for each of them. This will make managing your keywords an easier process. For instance, you may one campaign aimed at selling televisions to one audience and another campaign aimed at selling fridges to another audience.

Click price
The cost of a keyword is know as the click price, eg: how much you pay when a user clicks on your listing.

Context Stream
Context Stream is our contextual advertising product.

Conversion rate
Whenever a user clicks on your listing and buys from your website we call this a conversion. The conversion rate is the number of users who visit your site vs. the number of those users who actually purchase from that visit.

Customer
When a user buys from you, they become a customer. We also refer to users likely to purchase from you as a customer.

D

Day Parting
Day Parting allows you to choose the days and times that your listings appear in front of our users.

Description
The description is the text you use to engage the user when they read your listing, eg:

Featured Sites
Featured Sites is our Pay-Per-Click product.

I

Index
An index is a collection of websites stored in a database. Mirago Platinum Listings enables your website to appear in an index. An index holds the information that is displayed when a search is performed on a search engine.

Keyword
A keyword is a word that relates to your products or services. These are the words that a user will search on when they wish to find your website.

Keyword phrase
A keyword phrase is a collection of words that relates to your products or services. These are the words that a user will search on when they wish to find your website.

Listing
Sometimes referred to as an ad or advert. Your title and description displayed to a user within search results or as a Context Stream advert.

O

Organic results
Organic results are a collection of websites and details relating those websites. These are made up entirely of websites that have been found by the Mirago robot.

P

Paid Inclusion
Paid Inclusion is the method by which you can appear within our organic results. Mirago robots periodically crawl the Internet looking for website to include within our indexes. By using Paid Inclusion you can ensure your website will be included. Our Paid Inclusion product is called Platinum Listings.

Partner
Someone who displays our results on their website is a partner. These partners together are called our partner network.

Pay-Per-Click
Pay-Per-Click or PPC is the method by which you can ‘bid’ on keywords relating to your products and services. When a user searches for these keywords via a search engine then they will find your listing (advert). If the user decides to click on your listing then you will be charged the amount you bid for that keyword. Our PPC product is called Featured Sites.

Platinum Listings
Platinum Listings is our Paid Inclusion product.

R

Rank
This is the position your listing will appear at in our search results.

Reseller
Someone who takes Mirago products and sells them on to advertisers on behalf of Mirago is know as a reseller.

Return on investment (ROI)
ROI is how successful your PPC campaign was in terms of the money you made compared to the money you invested.

T

Title
The title is the introductory piece of text associated with your listing, eg:

Traffic Selection
Traffic Selection allows you to exclude your listings from our partner sites. If you find a particular partner that is delivering traffic yielding poor conversion rates then you can elect not to show your listings on that website.

Trusted Feeds
Our Trusted Feeds product is specifically designed to help push dynamically created websites further up the search results. Ideal for Macromedia Flash or database driven websites.

U

User
Someone who searches is called a user, they may also be referred to as a search user.
