The Mirago Platform moves into 'the Cloud'
Alton, 4th August 2010 - Following a two year development initiative, the new Mirago Unified Platform has been launched, which allows Publishers and Media Networks to quickly and easily deploy their own media serving and management system on a hosted and fully outsourced platform.
Mirago are in the business of building bespoke high performance media platforms for online Publishers and Media Networks. Up until now, each platform has been built using its own dedicated hardware, bespoke software, monitoring and disaster recovery facilities.
Now, the unified platform allocates new Publishers and Media Networks access to their own secure 'virtual platform'. This 'virtual platform' is fully branded in the style of the Publisher or Media Network and has access to the full feature set of the latest Mirago systems tailored to suit the exact requirements of the Publisher or Media Network.
As the underlying resources within the platform are scalable independently of each 'virtual platform', they are effectively supplied 'on demand', without the Publisher or Network having to get involved in provisioning.
Apart from the reduced management burden, this also means that the pricing model for the service reflects the usage and revenues generated. The setup and on-going management costs for the Publisher or Network are therefore significantly less than for a dedicated platform.
Although each 'virtual platform' is quite secure and independent, there are features which allow Publishers to easily syndicate advertisers to other platform members, or take their own syndicated feeds. This potentially allows Publishers or Networks who are launching their own system, to monetise their deployment more quickly than if they were starting with a blank sheet of paper.
